One of the most important rules of etiquette is saying “Thank You” when someone goes out of his or her way to do something nice for you. You call, write notes and send text messages.
But what about your customers? Aren’t they doing something nice for you?
After all, they could choose to patronize a different restaurant, law firm, university, personal trainer or boutique. Good customer service etiquette not only makes the client feel good, but it is also good for your business’ bottom line.
Showing appropriate “Thank You” etiquette can be as simple as remembering someone’s name or something personal about them.
Greet your customers.
“Good morning Mrs. Smith. How did little Charlie do during last weekend’s baseball game?”
Invite them to return.
“Thank you for coming in today. I look forward to seeing you next week. We will have this season’s spring shoe collection in store. I will set aside a pair in your size and favorite color.”
